Where did that year go...

I ask myself every year...what the hell happened to this year? (Oddly..the more birthdays I have, the faster they seem to pass. )  But on the second last night of 2010, I am feeling a bit... reflective.

2010 was a BIG year for me..

New job-which led to the most satisfying year of my career to date

New body- I joined Weight Watchers April 30th and lost 30 pounds...

New Living situation-  The child graduated High school and moved away to University.  I didn't realize HOW much this would affect almost every aspect of my very being. I had to wrap my head around the fact that what had been my sole purpose and focus for 18 years..was basically over. It also meant for the first time in my ENTIRE life i was living on my own.

I did 3 trips this year...My first trip ever west to Alberta and an amazing 5 day roadtrip and reconnection with a dear friend! A trip to the sistas house in Ontario for her birthday...and what came to be the symbol of my new life post child leaving the nest...A solo road trip to Maine to shop in Bangor.

And as good as this year was...I always look forward to the New Year..filled with possibility and promise...just waiting to be written.

Of course, there are resolutions...not so many this year...maintain a healthy weight...live within my means, and do one thing every week that scares me.

To my friends and family: I wish you simply this..exploit the possibility and promise that January brings to be happy. We get so little time, and it can all change in an instant. Do what is right for you.

Much Love,

XOXO

It's Christmas Time again!

Another Christmas is upon me and I have done all the things that mean Christmas to me...Watched the Grinch with the child, put up a stunning Whoville-like Christmas tree (my first real one in a very long time), made shortbread cookies (and trying VERY hard to NOT eat them all!) And realizing how lucky I am to have the family and friends I do to  share my life with. Merry Christmas to you all..

MUCH LOVE...
